Global Game Jam 2012

So, my friends and I decided to particpate in this year's Global Game Jam Singapore, a worldwide event, an initiative from the International Game Developers Association(IGDA), from 27th-29th of January, where teams have only 48 hours in which to design, create and test the game.

Since the event was hosted at Republic Polytechnic(which was our very own institute where me and my friends study at), we felt it could be an experience where we could test out our ideas. So this year's theme was 'Ouroboros".

So we began brainstorming ideas on my notepad(ideas written down in the pages/images above), which I have taken the liberty of doing so. Our representation of the theme was reanimation of the living dead, immortality. For more information, check out under my portfolio tab for the finished game.

These are my rough sketches and notes for the level design of the two games I was talking about earlier on in my previous post. The very first post at the top is my brief description of the game(note that it might be hard to see since I used a light pencil to do my ideation), which is KILLER BUGS.

The bottom 3 are the next game, Maths Hell. Currently I have designed 5 levels for it. The 5th and last level, as you can see, is undeveloped yet, area 3 and 4 are currently put on hold.
Currently working on two more projects, Killer Bugs and Maths Hell. I am still in the process of doing the level design and game mechanics, deciding how the game is going to be played and how it will look like. Will upload pictures of it soon. (rough level design sketches and notes)

For now, completed projects/prototypes are in the portfolio section.
